Greetings!

As you know, FreeBar recently took part in Tewkesbury School’s Battle Of The Bands (See the last post in case your confused). I am happy to say that, although we didn’t win, we achieved a very close third, with only a few votes separating us and the winners, Door 24.

Well, in the immortal words of Mick Jagger “You can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you might just get what you need!” so we’ll be back soon with some festive cheer for you all to enjoy. I would recommend you keep your eye on the Media page in for the next month or so…

I would just like to say thanks to everyone who came and supported us and our special guests (you were fantastic!), we all really appreciated it, and hopefully you’ll be able to see us again soon!

Bye for Now!

From Cover To Cover – Sept/Oct 09 Update

October 19th, 2009 - by Ollie

Yann Vocals - I'm A Beliver

Hello Everyone,

The past month has seen some fairly big changes for us, the first being our line-up, we wish our previous lead singer Chris Monk good luck in his endeavour to pursue a career in catering, and we hope it works out well for him. But please give a big warm welcome to the one and only Yann Moysey who has bravely stepped up to the role of lead singer as well as playing rhythm guitar.

Another change for us is our general stylistic direction, as we are mainly a cover band we enjoy playing rock classics from era’s gone by as well as many modern hits, but we have found at previous gigs that our set lists tend to be lacking on the modern end of things which audiences also love. We have had many requests that we should incorporate more modern songs into our repertoire and this is what we are now going to do. We are also working on ways of adding our own exciting modern twists to many of the classics that we play, of which you shal have to wait and see at a future gig of ours :)

True, it has been a while since we last played at any gigs, but don’t worry, we are currently busy at work in the studio recording several cover versions of well known songs which you will all *hopefully* recognise. If you are interested, see below for an early sneak peek into one of these songs (and please let us know what you think :D )

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

We will be releasing them soon, so be on the look out over the next few weeks for them :)

Also, we hope to begin playing at gigs again over the next month and we will keep you posted with dates as and when we sort them out.
